An installation functioning as an Omachi-based weather observatory, gathering weather, topography, natural phenomena, local memory, and visitor experience in multiple layers.
AWHOB functions as a temporary observatory installed within Omachi Park. A lighthouse-like structure changes colour, a dome inflates, and visitors can feel the wind through holes made in rocks. These elements respond to observation data gathered from Omachi Park, nearby mountain sites, and related environmental information.
The exhibition is composed of weather data, light, sound, a website, found objects, seasonal materials, a small shrine, and a diorama that connects the Northern Alps to a wider geographical scale. AWHOB does not present weather as a distant forecast. Instead, it gathers weather together with terrain, plants, animals, local sayings, personal memories, and the presence of each visitor.
