Bird Burial

A video record made through assisting with and filming a sky burial in Tibet, in which a body is eaten by birds and returned to nature. Through this experience, Funakawa physically sensed the instability of his own ethical position and the large cycle of nature. The direct feeling of the close relationship between weather, nature, and human beings that he encountered at this time became one of the origins of his current practice.
