The title functions as an index that gathers together sentences describing phenomena experienced by the artist. Through works, documents, devices, a desk, and monitors, the exhibition space became a place where visitors could access primary information.
The exhibition title is composed of a sequence of sentences describing phenomena experienced by Funakawa. The exhibition is structured as an installation in which works corresponding to each of these sentences are arranged throughout the space. These works are made through objects, mechanisms, devices, movement, moving images, sound, heat, light and darkness, voice, text, wind, plush toys, light, weather charts, bacterial luminescence, and the fading of turmeric’s colour through exposure to ultraviolet light.
On a desk in the venue, several instruction recipes for viewing the exhibition are provided. On the monitor, folders are organised according to each sentence of phenomena. Visitors can browse the primary information related to each sentence themselves, and may either print it out or copy it onto recording media to take away.
