SUMO

A performance that began along the Ganges River in India as a sumo-like game without any predetermined rules. Funakawa observed the process through which the participants themselves gradually created the rules. Through this purposeless game, the work captures how a sense of coexistence with nature and a shared agreement among people emerged.
