Weathering with heteronomy

Weathering with heteronomy was presented online in 2021 at Rīgas Performances festivāls Startpelpa. It was composed through a remote relationship with the Latvian dancer Lolita Epnere, treating heteronomy as a condition in which one body is sensed through another body.

The work is structured around the sentence: “In order to feel each other, you use my body, and I use yours.” Through this exchange, distance, weather, movement, and bodily sensation are connected. Rather than presenting collaboration as a simple meeting between two performers, the work treats the body as a medium that is lent, displaced, and used to sense another environment.
